We’ve Built Something New

On 1 June 2026, Energy Lab moves into a purpose-built headquarters in North Devon. It’s the result of three years of planning and a £1.5 million investment — and it changes what we’re able to do for you.

Why we needed to change

When we founded Energy Lab in 2012, heat pumps were a niche product. The projects were smaller, the supply chain was simpler, and our premises reflected that reality. Fast forward to today, and the market looks fundamentally different.

Commercial new builds, public sector retrofit programmes, social housing decarbonisation, large framework-procured estate projects — the scale and complexity of what we’re being asked to support has changed significantly. Our old premises couldn’t keep up. Warehousing was the most immediate constraint: we couldn’t hold the stock volumes that framework call-offs and phased programme deliveries require. Beyond that, our specification, supply and support teams were spread across separate spaces, which added friction to every project.

The new HQ is our answer to that.

Specify, supply and support, under one roof

For the first time in our history, every customer-facing function is in the same building. In practical terms, that means:

  • Specification: Our pre-sales technical engineers are on hand for system selection, performance modelling and tender support — whether you’re a consultant, M&E engineer or public sector specifier.
  • Supply: Significantly expanded warehousing, scaled for commercial volumes. Better transport connections mean faster, more reliable distribution across Great Britain.
  • Support: A dedicated aftersales technical team providing remote and onsite commissioning, diagnostics and repair support across the full life of the system.
  • Demonstration: Live, instrumented product on display. If you’re in the specification or approval process, come and see the equipment running.

“The team have delivered a great result and we’re all genuinely looking forward to moving into somewhere that’s been built for what we do - with room to expand.”

Training centre opening in September

Alongside the core operations, a dedicated training centre will open at Energy Lab HQ in September. It’s integrated with the live demonstration floor, and will support both accredited installer training and CPD-accredited sessions for the specification community.

We’ll be hosting an official launch event for the trade during opening week. Invitations will follow — if you’d like to register your interest, get in touch with the team.

European engineering, UK support

Our product partnerships haven’t changed. We work with Maxa in Italy and Ecoforest in Spain — manufacturers who have been designing and engineering heat pumps for decades. What’s different now is the infrastructure behind them.

“The difference is they’re sat on shelves in North Devon, not in a warehouse in Europe, and when something needs answering there’s a UK engineer on the end of the phone who understands the UK heating market.”

Our strategic partnerships with both manufacturers also give our customers direct access to their engineering teams — support that extends across the full life of the product.

Come and see it for yourself

If you’re working on a project that involves heat pump specification, supply or commissioning support, we’d welcome the conversation. Media walkthroughs of the new HQ can be arranged ahead of the September launch event.
